Four years have passed between this fourth edition and the third edition. This fourth edition has updates for regulatory compliance and technological changes, including changes to the HHS Mandatory Guidelines and Federal Drug Testing Custody and Control Form effective as of May 10, 2010. It also features more information about (1) nonurine tests; (2) prescription opiates and testing for prescription drugs; and (3) specimen validity testing. This fourth edition has updated endnote references. The text includes citations for some of the less well-known parts of the federal rules, so that readers can more easily locate the source material.
